The Benefits of Adding CBD to your Skincare Routine

The dozens of benefits of CBD for mental and physical health are no longer news, but many are not yet aware of the benefits of CBD for skin care. Over the last few years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of skin care brands which include CBD as part of the active ingredients in their formula. Those new products include CBD soaps and cleansers, CBD day and night cream, CBD massage oils, body lotions and even CBD sunscreen.

CBD for everyday skincare

CBD skincare is often based around hemp oil, which is a fantastic natural moisturizer. Hemp oil penetrates the skin to soothe it, smooth it out and deeply hydrate it without clogging pores. For that reason, CBD and hemp oil are often added to moisturizing creams, lotions and serums. CBD for skin care is also recommended for sensitive skins, as its anti-inflammatory properties are able to calm down flare-ups and provide relief from irritation. CBD in skincare has proven to be safe to use for most skin types and will provide benefits for anyone. Read below for the benefits of adding CBD to your skincare for more specific conditions and skin types.

CBD for anti-aging

People with aging skin might want to look into CBD for skin care as its potent antioxidant properties have been shown to prevent aging. Many CBD facial moisturizers designed for mature skins combine the deep moisturizing abilities of hemp with the antioxidant, skin-renewing qualities of CBD for an all-around very effective anti-aging combination.

CBD for acne

The anti-inflammatory nature of CBD, which is part of the reason why it is so good at treating certain illnesses, also makes it a great fighter against common skin diseases such as acne. Using a CBD based moisturizer can provide hydration for acne-prone skin while soothing itchy or painful spots. Further, research has shown that applying CBD on the face may reduce the amount of sebum which the skin produces, which helps prevent further spots from appearing. People with skin problems such as acne should definitely try out CBD based products for relief.

CBD for eczema

Many eczema sufferers have found relief with the use of CBD-enriched lotions and creams. Again, the anti-inflammatory nature of CBD means it is able to calm down irritation and provide lasting relief. While CBD might help with eczema when ingested, CBD used topically is able to act much more quickly and alleviate symptoms of eczema after the first application.
